Still Life
Oils are my indulgence. Where most of my work is about stripping back, here I let myself layer and linger — flowers give you permission to. A vase of blooms is the oldest subject in painting, and there’s a reason for that: it never sits still. The petals open, drop, turn toward the light, and you’re racing to catch them at their best before they go. I love that pressure. These are the slowest, most patient things I make — built up over days, wet into wet — and to me they’re proof that something ordinary, caught at the right moment, can stop you in your tracks.
